Memo
Biography
Memo is a multifaceted artist whose journey began in Miami, where they studied Visual and Performing Arts. With a diverse background that includes collaborations with notable organizations such as Nettles Artists Collective, La MaMa ETC, and HaitiDansCo, Memo employs a rich blend of influences from African dance, Suzuki method, sculpture, photography, and film art direction. This eclectic skill set enables them to explore a wide range of creative avenues, particularly in experimental and interdisciplinary projects.
Since relocating to New York City in 2002, Memo has taken on a variety of roles, from sculpting elaborate displays for the iconic Holiday Windows to providing voice-over work for the National Guard. Their unique experiences also include quirky gigs like appearing in Law and Order SVU and working in a law firm where they filed documents related to mesothelioma. Through it all, Memo discovered a passion for hosting on Airbnb, which they describe as the ultimate survival gig.
In addition to their artistic endeavors, Memo has dedicated time to education, engaging with underserved communities, including immigrant children in South Florida and students on the Autism Spectrum in New York. Now, as they embrace a "multi-coastal" lifestyle, Memo is eager to expand their horizons in acting while simultaneously writing and producing their own creative projects.
