He made his mark as a prolific actor during the silent film era, featuring in more than 430 films throughout his extensive career. In addition to his acting prowess, Mulhall was also known for his work as a male model, lending his visage to the iconic Arrow Collar Man in advertisements illustrated by J.C. Leyendecker for the Cluett Peabody shirt company. His contemporaries in this modeling endeavor included notable figures such as Fredric March and Reed Howes.
