Biography
Stephen John Fry is a multifaceted English talent renowned for his work as an actor, writer, comedian, and presenter. Born on August 24, 1957, he first gained prominence in 1981 through the Cambridge Footlights Revue, "The Cellar Tapes," alongside notable figures like Hugh Laurie and Emma Thompson. Fry's partnership with Laurie blossomed into the beloved comedy duo Fry and Laurie, where they co-created and starred in "A Bit of Fry & Laurie" and portrayed the iconic characters in "Jeeves and Wooster."
As a solo performer, Fry received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Oscar Wilde in the film "Wilde." He is also celebrated for his role as the cunning Melchett in the BBC's "Blackadder" series and for his lead performance in the ITV drama "Kingdom." Additionally, he has hosted the popular quiz show "QI" and embarked on an adventurous journey across the U.S. in "Stephen Fry in America," which aired in 2008.
