Rossano Brazzi
Biography
Rossano Brazzi (September 18, 1916 – December 24, 1994) was a renowned Italian actor whose impressive career spanned several decades. Born in Bologna to Adelmo and Maria (née Ghedini) Brazzi, he spent his formative years in Florence, where he attended San Marco University from the age of four. Brazzi made his cinematic debut in 1939, but it was his captivating performance in the 1954 film Three Coins in the Fountain that catapulted him to international stardom.
He further solidified his status as a leading man with his role opposite Katharine Hepburn in David Lean's critically acclaimed film Summertime (1955). Throughout his career, Brazzi featured in a number of significant English-language films, including The Barefoot Contessa (1954), The Story of Esther Costello (1957), and the musical South Pacific (1958). Other notable works included Count Your Blessings (1959), The Light in the Piazza (1962), and the classic caper film The Italian Job (1969). With his charm and versatility, Brazzi left an indelible mark on the film industry, earning admiration from audiences around the world.
