Biography
Diarmaid Murtagh is a talented Irish actor known for his diverse roles across film and television. He gained significant attention for his portrayal of Leif in the acclaimed historical drama series Vikings, which aired in 2013. Murtagh's film career includes notable performances such as Dimitri in the 2014 fantasy action film Dracula Untold and Captain Harpen in George Clooney’s war drama The Monuments Men, also released in 2014.
His acting journey began in the 2007 Irish soap opera Ros na Rún, where he first showcased his talent. Murtagh's compelling performance as convict Frank Mitchell in the 2019 film The Krays' Mad Axeman further solidified his reputation in the industry.
Currently, he stars as Hermes, the messenger of the gods, in the Netflix series Troy: Fall of a City, bringing a fresh interpretation to the mythological figure.
