Janusz Gajos, born on September 23, 1939, is a distinguished Polish actor renowned for his contributions to film, television, and theatre. With a career spanning several decades, he has established himself as one of the most celebrated figures in Polish performing arts. Gajos also serves as a professor of Theatre Arts and holds the honorary title of Doctor from the National Film School in Łódź.
Throughout his illustrious career, Gajos has received a plethora of accolades recognizing his talent and dedication to the arts. Among his notable awards are the Gold Cross of Merit, awarded in 1974, and the Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture, which he received in 2007. His exceptional performances have garnered him five Polish Film Awards, received in the years 2001, 2007, 2016, and 2019. In 2011, he was honored with the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta, further solidifying his status in the cultural landscape of Poland. Additionally, he was celebrated with the Diamond Lions Award at the Gdynia Film Festival in 2015.
