Biography
Walter Bruce Willis, born on March 19, 1955, is a celebrated American actor who retired from the industry due to health concerns. His journey began in the 1970s on off-Broadway stages, but he gained prominence with his lead role in the hit comedy-drama series “Moonlighting” from 1985 to 1989. Willis starred in over 70 films, notably solidifying his status as an action star with his iconic role as John McClane in the “Die Hard” series, which spanned from 1988 to 2013.
His filmography includes notable titles such as “The Last Boy Scout” (1991), “Pulp Fiction” (1994), “12 Monkeys” (1995), and “The Sixth Sense” (1999). In addition to acting, Willis ventured into music with his debut album, "The Return of Bruno," in 1987. He has earned numerous awards, including a Golden Globe and two Primetime Emmys. In March 2022, he announced his retirement following an aphasia diagnosis, later revealed to be frontotemporal dementia in February 2023.
