Daniel Benzali
Biography
Daniel Benzali, born on January 20, 1946, is a distinguished Brazilian-American actor known for his work in theater, television, and film. He began his career on stage before transitioning to television, where he featured in notable series like Star Trek: The Next Generation, The X-Files, NYPD Blue, and L.A. Law. His performance in L.A. Law caught the attention of creator Steven Bochco, leading to his starring role as attorney Ted Hoffman in the 1995 drama Murder One, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. Benzali later appeared in The Agency and acclaimed films such as By Dawn's Early Light, Murder at 1600, and The Grey Zone. He portrayed Thomas Valente in the CBS series Jericho and Dr. Griffin in FX's Nip/Tuck. Additionally, he has had a successful musical theater career, playing Juan Peron in Evita and Max von Mayerling in Sunset Boulevard alongside Patti LuPone. Benzali was formerly engaged to actress Kim Cattrall and joined ABC's General Hospital in December 2010, reprising the name Theodore Hoffman, a nod to his earlier role.
