Jean Bouise
Biography
Jean Bouise (June 3, 1929 – July 6, 1989) was a prominent French actor known for his significant contributions to both theater and film. Born in Le Havre, Bouise was instrumental in establishing the Théâtre de la Cité during the 1950s, where he began to hone his craft as part of the acting troupe. His film career took off in the 1960s, and he quickly became recognized for his supporting roles in notable films such as *The Shameless Old Lady*, *Z*, *L'Aveu*, *Out 1*, *The Return of the Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe*, *Section spéciale*, and *Monsieur Klein*.
Bouise's talent was acknowledged with César nominations for his performances in *Le vieux fusil* and *Le Juge Fayard dit Le Shériff*. He ultimately received the César Award for Best Supporting Actor for his work in *Coup de tête*. His filmography continued to expand with appearances in acclaimed movies like *Édith et Marcel*, *Le Dernier Combat*, *Subway*, *The Big Blue*, and *La Femme Nikita*.
