Robert Livingston, born on December 9, 1904, in Quincy, Illinois, was a prominent figure in American cinema, making his mark as a versatile film actor throughout his career. Over the span of more than five decades, he appeared in 135 films, showcasing his talent from 1921 until 1975.

Known affectionately as "Bob Livingston," he gained significant recognition for his role as "Stony Brooke" in the "Three Mesquiteers" series, a collection of Western B-movies that captivated audiences during the 1930s and 1940s. Notably, this character was later portrayed by the legendary John Wayne in eight subsequent films. In addition to this iconic role, Livingston took on the mantle of the Lone Ranger in a 1939 serial directed by William Witney, alongside Chief Thundercloud as Tonto, though much of this work is now considered lost to time.

Livingston's contributions to the film industry are remembered fondly, reflecting a dedication to his craft that spanned numerous genres and decades. He passed away on March 7, 1988, in Tarzana, California, due to emphysema. He was laid to rest in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California, leaving behind a legacy that continues to resonate with fans of classic cinema.
