Biography
Pääru Oja, born on May 16, 1989, in Tallinn, Estonia, is a versatile actor known for his work across stage, film, television, and voice acting. As the youngest son in a family steeped in the performing arts, he is the son of esteemed actor Tõnu Oja and the brother of Kaarel Oja, CEO of the Estonian Theatre Festival and theatre manager, who is married to actress Ursula Ratasepp. His uncle, Rein Oja, is also a notable figure in the theatre world, serving as an actor, director, and instructor.
Oja completed his primary and secondary education in Tallinn before pursuing his passion for acting at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Graduating in 2012 under the mentorship of Elmo Nüganen, he showcased his talent through various significant roles, including Father of Toulon in Peter Barnes' "Red Noses" and Joseph Wykowski in Neil Simon's "Biloxi Blues." He also portrayed Argante in Molière's "The Imaginary Invalid," further solidifying his reputation in the theatrical landscape.
Among his peers at the academy were notable actors such as Henrik Kalmet, Karl-Andreas Kalmet, Priit Pius, Märt Pius, Liis Lass, Piret Krumm, Maiken Schmidt, and Kaspar Velberg, all of whom have made their mark in the Estonian arts scene.
