Reda Kateb, born on July 27, 1977, is a prominent French actor known for his diverse roles in film and television. Hailing from Ivry-sur-Seine, France, he is the son of Algerian actor Malek-Eddine Kateb and a French nurse of Czech and Italian heritage. His artistic lineage continues with his status as the grandnephew of the celebrated Algerian writer Kateb Yacine.
Kateb spent his early years in Ivry-sur-Seine, a suburb of Paris, before relocating to Montreuil in 2011. His career has been marked by a commitment to storytelling that reflects his multicultural background. In 2015, he showcased his filmmaking talents with the short film "Pitchoune," which garnered attention at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, featured in the Directors' Fortnight section.
