Biography
Sacha Noam Baron Cohen, born on October 13, 1971, is a renowned English comedian, actor, and performance artist celebrated for his innovative satirical characters, including Ali G, Borat Sagdiyev, Brüno Gehard, and Admiral General Haffaz Aladeen. He gained significant recognition in 2012 when he received the Outstanding Achievement Award at the British Comedy Awards, famously accepting it in character as Ali G. The following year, he was honored with the BAFTA Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy, and in 2018, The Times listed him among the top 30 living comedians.
Baron Cohen's career began on television, where he was named Best Newcomer at the 1999 British Comedy Awards for his work on The 11 O'Clock Show. He created the influential Da Ali G Show (2000–2004), earning two BAFTA Awards before moving to the Showtime series Who Is America? (2018), which garnered him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Series.
He has starred in notable comedic films like Ali G Indahouse (2002), Borat (2006), and its sequel Borat Subsequent Moviefilm (2020), along with appearances in serious films such as Sweeney Todd (2007) and The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020).
