Edoardo Leo, born on April 21, 1972, is a multifaceted Italian actor, director, and screenwriter hailing from Rome. He holds a degree in Literature and Philosophy from Sapienza University of Rome and began his journey in the acting world at an early age. Leo made his professional entry into the industry in 1995 with the television movie "La luna rubata." His significant breakthrough came in 2003 when he portrayed Marcello in the popular TV series "Un medico in famiglia."
In 2009, Leo ventured into screenwriting and directing with the road movie "18 Years Later," which earned him recognition and accolades at various international film festivals. This debut garnered a nomination for Best New Director at the David di Donatello and a similar nomination for a Nastro d'Argento. In 2014, he was honored with the Nino Manfredi Prize at the Silver Ribbon Awards for his contributions to cinema.
