William Lindon-Travers, better known as Bill Travers, was a prominent English actor, screenwriter, director, and passionate animal rights advocate, born on January 3, 1922. Travers made significant contributions to film and television throughout his career, which spanned several decades. He gained widespread recognition for his role in the classic 1966 movie "Born Free," where he portrayed George Adamson, the caretaker of Elsa the lioness. The film, based on the true story of a lion raised by humans, not only showcased Travers' acting talents but also highlighted his deep commitment to wildlife conservation.

In addition to "Born Free," Travers was involved in various other projects, including "The Last Lion" and "The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends," which further established his reputation as a versatile performer.
