Leslie Easterbrook

Biography

Leslie Easterbrook, born in Los Angeles, was adopted at just nine months old by Carl and Helen Easterbrook, who nurtured her in Arcadia, Nebraska. She completed her education at Kearney High School before pursuing further studies at Stephens College. With a musical professor for a father and an English teacher for a mother, Easterbrook was immersed in the arts from an early age.

Easterbrook's career spans approximately a dozen feature films and over 300 television episodes. She gained prominence in 1980 when she joined the cast of "Laverne & Shirley" as Rhonda Lee, marking a significant shift in the series as it transitioned from Milwaukee to Hollywood. Her role as Debbie Callahan in the "Police Academy" film series showcased her ability to break typecasting; she later reflected on the audition experience, noting how her initial intimidation of the producers unexpectedly led to her landing the role.

Her extensive television credits include appearances on popular shows such as "Murder, She Wrote," "Diagnosis: Murder," "Baywatch," and "The Dukes of Hazzard." In film, she took on notable roles in Rob Zombie's "The Devil's Rejects" and its predecessor, "House of 1000 Corpses," and starred in the 2008 horror film "House."

Beyond acting, Easterbrook showcased her vocal talent by singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XVII, which opened doors for her in musical theater. She has also contributed to various charitable causes, particularly those supporting children, and is an active member of the National Rifle Association. Currently, she is married to M*A*S*H writer Dan Wilcox, having previously been married to actor Victor Holchak.
