Alfredo Castro Gómez, born on December 19, 1955, in Santiago, is a distinguished Chilean actor and theatre director. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Acting from the prestigious Universidad de Chile and has made significant contributions to the world of performing arts. As a multifaceted artist, he excels not only as an actor but also as a pedagogue and playwright.
Castro is the founder of Teatro La Memoria, a theatre company that has become a cornerstone of contemporary Chilean theatre. Under his leadership, the company established the Centro de Investigación Teatral (Center for Theatrical Investigation) in 2006, along with the intimate Sala de Teatro: Teatro La Memoria, which accommodates around 100 spectators, fostering an engaging atmosphere for theatrical performances.
In addition to his theatrical accomplishments, Castro has collaborated extensively with renowned Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larraín. His filmography includes remarkable titles such as "Fuga" (2006), "Tony Manero" (2008), and "Post Mortem" (2010), showcasing his versatility and depth as an actor.
