David John Ryall (January 5, 1935 – December 25, 2014) was a distinguished English actor renowned for his work across stage, film, and television. He gained prominence for his starring roles in the series Lytton's Diary and Goodnight Sweetheart. Ryall delivered notable performances in Dennis Potter's acclaimed miniseries The Singing Detective and in Andrew Davies's adaptation of To Play the King, showcasing his versatility as a character actor. Additionally, he portrayed the character Billy Buzzle in the ITV sitcom Bless Me, Father and played Frank in the BBC comedy Outnumbered.
