Biography
Philippe Blanchard, widely recognized as Philippe Katerine, was born on December 8, 1968. He is a multifaceted French artist known for his work as a singer-songwriter, actor, director, and writer, launching his career in 1991. Katerine has produced several notable singles, including "Mon cœur balance," "Je vous emmerde," and "Louxor j'adore."
Initially, his musical approach blended easy-listening elements with bossa nova influences, often presenting lyrics that oscillated between dark humor and existential angst. As his career progressed, he incorporated rock and electronic sounds while maintaining his signature quirky style within the realm of French music. His acting debut came in 2010 when he portrayed Boris Vian in Joann Sfar's biopic, Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life. The following year, he took on a leading role in the quirky comedy, I am a No Man's Land, and in 2015, he played a head of state in Gaz de France.
