Renie Riano, born on August 7, 1899, in England, made her mark as an actress in the United States, particularly in the 1940s and 1950s. Although she often took on minor roles, she is perhaps best remembered for her contributions to the Jiggs and Maggie comedy series.

Riano came from a theatrical lineage; her mother, Irene Riano (1871–1940), was a talented stage actress and the only female member of the renowned "Four Rianos," an eccentric acrobatic troupe that gained popularity in vaudeville and variety shows across the globe. Irene was the daughter of Joseph Rice, a notable Philadelphia theater owner, and her marriage to Robert Riano, a vaudeville acrobat, solidified their family's deep connection to the performing arts. Robert, born in 1867 in Yonkers, New York, was instrumental in organizing their famous act before his untimely passing in 1909.

Throughout her career, Renie Riano's performances contributed to the rich tapestry of American cinema during a transformative era. While she often played supporting roles, her work in various films helped solidify her place in the entertainment industry. Riano passed away on July 3, 1971, leaving behind a legacy intertwined with the vibrant world of vaudeville and early American film.
