Biography

Riccardo Garrone (November 1, 1926 – March 14, 2016) was a renowned Italian actor, voice actor, and director whose career spanned over six decades. He embarked on his acting journey in 1949 after studying at the prestigious Silvio d'Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts. Garrone made his film debut in "Adam and Eve," directed by Mario Mattoli, and went on to appear in more than 140 films until his retirement in 2014.

His performances often involved charming and courteous characters, predominantly seen in various B-movie comedies, spaghetti westerns, and horror films. Throughout the 1980s, Garrone collaborated extensively on stage with notable actors such as Antonella Steni, while also becoming a familiar face on television. One of his most memorable roles was as Nicola Solari in the popular series "Un medico in famiglia," along with a recurring part in "Amico mio" alongside Massimo Dapporto.

Garrone was married to Grazia Maria Verità, and the couple welcomed a daughter named Francesca. He was also the younger sibling of director Sergio Garrone. After years of dedicated work in film, theatre, and television, Riccardo Garrone passed away in Milan on March 14, 2016, at the age of 89, leaving behind a rich legacy in the Italian entertainment industry.
