Jamie Gillis, originally named James Ira Gurman, was born on April 20, 1943, in New York City and passed away on February 19, 2010. He made a significant mark in the adult film industry as a renowned actor, director, and a celebrated member of the AVN Hall of Fame.
A graduate of Columbia University, Gillis appeared in over 470 adult films, showcasing a versatile range as both a performer and a director. Identifying as bisexual, he participated in gay adult films but chose not to engage in sexual scenes with men on screen. His career also extended into mainstream cinema; he had a notable role in the 1981 film "Nighthawks," where he portrayed the character of Lindsay Wagner’s boss alongside the legendary Sylvester Stallone.
Gillis's legacy remains prominent in the adult entertainment world, where his contributions have been recognized and honored. Tragically, he passed away in 2010 in his hometown, succumbing to melanoma, a condition that had been diagnosed just a few months prior to his passing.
