Frank Collison
Biography
Frank Collison, born on February 14, 1950, is a prominent American actor. He honed his craft at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, where he also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in theatre from San Francisco State University. Following this, he played a pivotal role in founding a summer theatre company in the Sierra Nevada region before pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in acting at UC San Diego.
Prior to launching his professional acting career, Collison held various jobs, including forest fire fighter, diaper service dispatcher, and substitute teacher. Over the course of his career, he has participated in more than 150 productions across off-Broadway and regional theaters in cities such as Boston, Denver, and California. His diverse theatrical performances have included notable roles such as "Puck" in A Midsummer Night's Dream, "Miss Havisham" in Great Expectations, and "Jacob Marley" in A Christmas Carol. Additionally, he is a co-founder of the Pacific Resident Theatre in Venice, California, which has garnered more than 25 awards from the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle.
Collison's journey in film and television began when he relocated to Los Angeles in 1984. He is widely recognized for his portrayal of "Horace Bing," the unfortunate telegraph operator in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (1993), as well as "Wash Hogwallop" in the film O Brother, Where Art Thou?
