Biography

James Morrison, widely recognized in the wrestling community as J.J. Dillon, is a retired American professional wrestler and manager whose career spans several decades. He entered the wrestling scene at the age of 29 in the early 1970s, initially serving as a referee before transitioning into a wrestler and then a manager. Throughout his career, Dillon achieved numerous accolades, competing in various territories across the United States.

Dillon made a notable debut at Madison Square Garden on April 23, 1984, where he faced Tito Santana for the WWE Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship, though he was ultimately defeated after a flying forearm from Santana. His legacy is primarily defined by his impactful role as a manager, where he successfully guided a host of wrestlers to both singles and tag-team championships within the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA).

Perhaps the pinnacle of Dillon's career came as the manager of the legendary faction, the Four Horsemen, which included icons such as "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson, Lex Luger, and Barry Windham. After departing World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in February 1989, he took on an executive role in WWE until 1997. He returned to WCW as an on-screen commissioner in April 1997, a role he held until late 1998, and he briefly represented the NWA in TNA in 2003.

Dillon's contributions to the wrestling world continued beyond his active years. In 2009, he made a special appearance at Deaf Wrestlefest, and he joined the Board of Directors for the International Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in December 2019. He also returned to the spotlight on March 3, 2021, appearing as a manager for Tully Blanchard on an episode of AEW Dynamite.
