Biography
John Christopher Depp II, born on June 9, 1963, is a multifaceted American actor, producer, and musician known for his diverse roles and distinctive performances. He has garnered numerous awards, including a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award, and has been nominated for three Academy Awards and two BAFTAs.
Depp's career began in the horror genre with A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), but he gained fame as a teen heartthrob on the TV series 21 Jump Street (1987-1990). Throughout the 1990s, he starred in a variety of independent films, showcasing his talent with unique characters in titles such as What's Eating Gilbert Grape (1993) and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998). His collaboration with Tim Burton produced iconic films like Edward Scissorhands (1990) and Sweeney Todd (2007).
In the 2000s, Depp achieved immense commercial success as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
