James Wong Jim (Chinese: 黃霑; Jyutping: wong4 zim1; Cantonese Yale: wòhng jīm; 18 March 1941 – 24 November 2004), affectionately referred to as "霑叔" or "Uncle Jim," was a prominent lyricist and songwriter in the Cantopop genre, primarily active in Hong Kong. His career began in the 1960s, during which he penned lyrics for over 2,000 songs, frequently collaborating with the esteemed songwriter Joseph Koo (also known as Koo Kar-Fai) on numerous beloved television theme songs that have since become timeless classics. His contributions played a crucial role in elevating Cantopop to new heights of popularity.

In addition to his songwriting prowess, Wong was widely recognized across Asia as a columnist, actor, film director, screenwriter, and talk show host.
