Biography
Michel Bouquet (November 6, 1925 – April 13, 2022) was a distinguished French actor renowned for his contributions to both stage and film, with a prolific career spanning from 1947 to 2020 that included over 100 films. He garnered significant acclaim, winning the European Film Award for Best Actor for his role in "Toto the Hero" (1991), and earned two César Awards for Best Actor for "How I Killed My Father" (2001) and "The Last Mitterrand" (2005). Additionally, Bouquet received the Molière Award for Best Actor for "Les côtelettes" (1998) and "Exit the King" (2005), along with an Honorary Molière in 2014 for his extensive career. In 2018, he was honored with the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor. Born in Paris, his early aspirations shifted from medicine to acting, leading him to study under Maurice Escande and collaborate with notable playwrights and directors throughout his illustrious career.
